11.  Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Reading time: 2 minutes

Introduction:

This section lists all the different CPD events that I have attended or prepared and delivered since 2020.

University of West London (UWL) view all events :

NOTE: These sessions are prepared and delivered FREE of charge to UWL staff and partner institutions ONLY.

As as a Learning Technologist with ExPERT Academy at UWL, I am required to prepare and deliver CPD training to staff on the use of TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning). The following are events that used to be delivered before I joined the team and I am now taking over as lead. And the last regarding accessibility is an event that I decided to deliver which has never been offered before at UWL.

UWL Flex Training

This session is designed to provide a refresher on the UWL Flexmodel of learning and teaching. Academic staff, Hourly Paid Lecturers (HPLs), and PhD students involved in teaching, are trained on or reminded of UWL Flex and its 3-main components, shown an exemplar of UWL Flex, and shown how to develop content following UWL Flex. read more...

UWL Student Inductions - Blackboard Training

This session covers a Blackboard training overview for new students. It covers in detail how we at UWL use Blackboard, our baseline module template, where to find information on Blackboard, how to submit assignments and complete tests or quizzes, how to access their submissions, view feedback, and grades assigned by their instructors, and more. All this is to get them prepared on how to use Blackboard, ready for the start of their courses. read more...

UWL Replay - Manual Recording Training

This session covers how instructors can manually recording their sessions on UWL Replay or Panopto using Panopto Capture, the importance and benefits of manual recordings, how to schedule a single and recurring sessions to record in future, how to update scheduled sessions, and delete any scheduled sessions that are no longer needed. This is a response following several comments we have received in the passed when we used to centrally schedule sessions for automatic recording. read more...
